The collection of Pola Museum of Art, Pola Art Foundation is one that was put together over a period of more than forty years by the late Suzuki Tsuneshi (1930-2000), the former owner of the Pola Orbis Holdings Inc.. These works include example of modern European painting, modern Japanese Western-style painting, contemporary Japanese-style painting, prints, sculpture, Oriental ceramics, modern and contemporary Japanese ceramics, glasswork, and cosmetic utensils from a variety of eras and regions of world.

Western Painting
Forming the core of the collection are modern European paintings, chiefly works by Impressionists such as Monet and Cézanne, and twentieth-century painters such as Picasso. In this gallery, approximately thirty paintings are presented, generally following the course of Modern painting.

Japanese Western-style Painting
The Pola Museum of Art has paintings that provide an overview of the major painters and important movements in the history of Japanese Western-style painting, from early Meiji era to the Taisho and Showa eras. In this gallery, we follow how Japanese painters created a Japanese style of oil painting by assimilating Western painting in original ways.
